Puttur: In a rarest of rare incident a drama unfurled within a mythological plot, at Puttur on Tuesday mid night, leaving audience perplexed.

Even as artistes of Yedaneeru mela were staging ‘Veeramani Kalaga’ episode as part of week long ‘Yakshothsava’, at Nataraja Auditorium in Lord Mahalingeshwara temple premises, the two artistes playing important roles got into an altercation on stage, ending with one walking out of the stage leaving the play half way.

The story had reached the point where the dialogues between Veeramani, the central character and Lord Hanumantha was enthralling the audience.

The witty dialogues were appreciated by the enthusiasts with timely claps and whistles. The show went on well till the artistes resorted to slinging personal, distasteful comments at each other, changing the atmosphere.

Raged by the same, the artiste playing the role of Hanumantha walked out leaving the other artiste in fix. The Bhagavath, who usual intervenes whenever there is a crisis, in this case was left dumbstruck.

Only thing he could utter in state of helplessness was that he could not do much if artistes were to behave in this manner.

The show was put on hold for few minutes till the mela managers managed to pacify Hanumantha and send him back to stage.
