Dakshina Kannada District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ramakrishna Rao in a press conference on Wednesday, April 24 said that malaria needs to be rooted out and for that public must keep the surroundings clean. “Construction sites should take more precautionary measures to prevent malaria as most of the cases are found among construction workers and those who are residing at the construction sites”, he informed.
District Malaria officer Dr Arun Kumar informed that among the 494 malaria cases, which was found between January to April 22 in Dakshina Kannada district, 432 cases were found in Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) limits only. Hence, those who are living in the MCC limits should take extra care about malaria disease.
