Mangaluru: In continued instance of hate violence, a 24-year-old youth was assaulted with swords by unidentified miscreants here at Ranipura in Kuthar on Saturday, July 8 night.
The victim Chiranjeevi, a resident of Kotlaguttu, Amlamogaru suffered head injuries in the assault and has been admitted to a hospital in Deralakatte for treatment.
It is gathered that three bike-borne men waylaid Chiranjeevi while he was riding his bike and assaulted him.
It is suspected that ongoing communal unrest may have been the reason behind this attack.
A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
