Belthangady: A police team led by Sub Inspector Janaki of forest patrolling squad of Puttur Special Police arrested a man possessing deer skin at Dharmasthala bus stand, Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada district here on Tuesday August 3.
The arrested has been identified as Hanumanth (35). The accused had travelled from Belagavi and was trying to sell deer skin at Dharmasthala illegally transported by him.
The man was arrested following a definite tip-off. A mobile phone, and the deer skin has been seized from the arrested.
The accused was produced before Belthangady Court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
