Mangaluru: Our challenge is to develop a global education system with its roots in the principles of Indian culture, said Mangalore University Syndicate Member and MIT (Manipal) Professor Dr.Karunakar Kotegar.
Speaking at a webinar on the Role of teachers in the implementation of New Education Policy (NEP) – Awareness, Vision, Challenges, and Response, organized in association with Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM) and NITI Aayog at the Srinivasa Mallya Hall of Mangalore University here on Friday, he said that NEP will be a contribution by India to the global education system.
Tumkur University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Y S Siddegowda inaugurated the event and appreciated that Mangalore University has opened the door to National Education Policy. Presiding over the function, Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. SubrahmanyaYadapadithayasaid that changing the mindset will play a crucial role in the implementation of the new education system.
Mangalore University College Development Council Director Prof. M. Jayashankar welcomed the guest, while Prof. Prashant Naik rendered a vote of thanks. Swastika National School President Dr. Raghavendra Holla was the chief guest for the valedictory session, while IQAC Director Prof. Kishori Nayak K was the guest of honor. Mangalore University Registrar K Raju Mogaveera (KAS) presided over the function.
Teams of professors, led by a track leader deliberated the recorded salient features of the discussions of their respective groups in the valedictory session. About 1000 professors participated in the webinar.
