Mangaluru: Mangalore University will be a paperless office with the digitalisation of the entire system and the public can have requisite information about the varsity on its finger, said Vice Chancellor Prof. P S Yadapadithaya.
He was addressing a gathering during a national level seminar on ‘Insights on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in Higher Education system’, organised by the Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT) at the St. Agnes College (Autonomous) conference hall. Yadapadithaya said, “The information on about 210 colleges affiliated to Mangalore University and the five autonomous colleges will be included in the data system of the university”, he informed.
Yadapadithaya said that the draft copy of National Educational Policy (2019) was formed in order to impart quality education to all. “However, the policy would be introduced only with the consent of the people”, he said.
“Both Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) support the national educational policy. Mangalore University would hold a workshop on national educational policy in the coming days”, he informed.
Mangalore University Registrar Prof. A M Khan while addressing the gathering, said, “Choice-based Credit System promotes interdisciplinary study and it links with the different resources of information. Teachers should be updated to the present system of education and they should gather information from every corner”, he opined.
College Education Department Regional Joint Director Dr. Appaji Gowda S B, Agnes College Principal Dr. Jeswina, AMUCT President N M Joseph, General Secretary Dr. Vishala B K, Prof. Malini Malya among others were present.
