Mangaluru: Y.M. Basheer (51), a resident of Ullal, was arrested by the police in connection with a murder case after evading capture for the past 23 years.
The incident allegedly occurred on 17 December 2000, when he was accused of stabbing a woman and robbing her chain late at night. The case was filed at the Urva Police Station.
Despite a warrant being issued against him, Y.M. Basheer had been on the run, failing to appear in court. However, on Wednesday, the police successfully apprehended him and presented him before the court.
