The incident took place at Mandara near Pachanadi in the middle of Padiljokatte, where Chandravathi averted a possible train accident.
Around 2.10 pm in the afternoon a tree fell on the track. At the same time, the Matsyagandha train was about to run from Mangaluru to Mumbai. Chandravati, 70, who noticed this immediately, did not know what to do.
She caught the attention of loco pilot by bringing a red dress and displaying it at the time of the arrival of the train. Sensing the danger, the loco pilot lowered the speed of the train and averted a possible disaster by stopping the train. Later, locals and some people from the railways cleared the tree.
Chandravati had just eaten and was in the courtyard of the house. Her elder sister was sleeping at home. Meanwhile, she heard the sound of something falling on the railway track in front of the house. When she came and saw a big tree was lying on the track and she was aware that Mumbai train was passing. She didn’t immediately know what to do, she came home to call someone when she heard the train blaring. She saw a red cloth at home grabbed it and ran to the track, she informed.
