Mangaluru: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has emerged as a national party in the last 10 years, will contest the elections across the country this time and the list of candidates for five seats in Dakshina Kannada district has already been announced, aam aadmi party district president Ashok Edamale said.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Hegde said that the party in Puttur assembly constituency is being recognised for providing quality health and education by supporting the establishment of a medical college with the upgradation of a government hospital in Puttur.

We Will Work Towards Providing Quality Education And Health To The People With The Assertion That It Is A Fundamental Right. In this context, we have selected Dr. B.K. Vishukumar Gowda as our candidate from Puttur Assembly constituency. Santhosh Kamath from Mangaluru South, Sandeep Shetty from North, Sumana Bellarkar from Sullia and Vijaya Vathalanath Shetty from Moodabidri have been selected as candidates.

We are working in such a way that people come to us to become workers without stressing on party membership. National leaders will arrive in Puttur as the election process gains momentum. He said schedules for the same have already been prepared.

In the wake of the party’s manifesto, hegde announced a list of 10 guarantees for Karnataka, regional and Puttur, including zero corruption, electricity, education, health, employment opportunities, 32 per cent exemption for women in government jobs, social welfare, civil services and employment guarantee for farmers. He also gave a list of guarantees for the development of all regions in the context of regional development, infrastructure development fund of Rs 5 crore for each region, 10 educational complexes across the state, 10 health complexes, 10 tourism complexes and high quality roads.

He also announced the setting up of a government medical college for Puttur, high-level research for eradication of arecanut yellow disease, setting up of export units with support price for coconut crop, promotion of production of rubber products, setting up of readymade garments manufacturing units, promotion of dairy farming, setting up of organic manufacturing units and guarantee list of government facilities for unorganised workers.
Party’s Puttur candidate Dr. B.K. Vishukumar Gowda, prominent leaders Janardhan Bangera, Mohammed Ali, Purushottama Kolpe and others were present at the press meet.
