On February 1, 2020, at Aikala Kambala, Srinivas Gowda had covered the distance of 100 metres in 9.55 seconds. In 2009, Usain Bolt set a record of covering 100 metres in 9.58 seconds. Several organisations in the country, including the State Government, had helped Srinivas Gowda.
