Mangaluru: City’s swimmer in 40s enters India Book of Records

Mangaluru: A swimmer from the City has created a sensation by entering his name in the India Book of Records in his 40s.

K. Chandrasekhara Rai Surikumeru, at the age of 49, showed his skills on September 15, 2022. Surikumeru performed 29 somersaults underwater in a minute and 2 seconds. “I had applied for India Book of Records and now I have got the award. I have been feted for performing maximum number of somersaults underwater in a minute and 2 seconds,” he said.

He is now a recipient of a certificate and a medal from the India Book of Records. Surikumeru is a national level swimmer and a national level pole vault player.

He is currently working in the Mangaluru City Corporation swimming pool and is guiding public in swimming there in.
