Mangaluru: The toll gate at NITK Suratkal will be cleared in compliance with legal procedures, said Dakshina Kannada BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Speaking to mediapersons about the protests against the removal of the toll gate, he said that people have the right to organise a peaceful protest, and the government has no problem with it. He further said that Congress failed to remove the toll gate when it was in power, and now they are supporting the protests of the people. “Why did Oscar Fernandes not move a proposal for clearing the toll gate when he was the Union Minister?”, he asked.
In light of the Morbi bridge tragedy in Gujarat, Nalin said that the District Administration will hold an inspection to establish the safety of the suspension bridges in the district. Based on the technician’s report, necessary action will be taken, he added.
