Mangaluru: Within the limits of Mangaluru Police Commissionerate, gambling and video games dens are operating and their activities are increasing by the day. gambling Centres are run in the name of Recreation Club and literally killing people due to cheating taking place. It is targeting poor and middle-class labourers that includes small traders, labourers and students in the City, thus looting people’s hard-earned money.
Many of the families who have been cheated have lost their homes and valuables. Many have taken to the streets. Though there has been a lot of opposition from the public against such illegal gambling centres, no action has been taken by the local police stations, people allege.
The gambling centres will function as usual after a few days of pretending to be shut down.
DYFI Activists laid siege to gambling centres operating in the heart of the City and closed their doors in protest, demanding the permanent closure of gambling centres.
