Mangaluru: Founder of Sri Rama Sene Pramod Muthalik said “I am contesting elections from Karkala Constituency for the survival of Hindutva. Give me a 100-rupee note with a vote. I don’t have any bank account, I’m a monk, and don’t have the money power either. Activists are my strength. Honesty Hindutva is my blessing. Support me with money for the expenses of activists for my activities. I am committed to repaying its debt,” he said.
He was speaking at a press conference held at Panchajanya, the new office at Parapu in Karkala. He urged the Government to lay emphasis on the construction of monkey parks to avoid monkey menace in Malnad regions, provide relief to arecanut growers for leaf spot disease and compensation to cows that have died due to Lumpy Skin Disease. “There are seven Hoblis in Karkala Assembly constituency and a Gaushala will be constructed by the Government. We are committed to take strict action against those indulging in cow theft,” he said, calling for celebrating Valentine’s Day as a day to embrace the cow instead of Valentine’s Day.
“The main roads in the State have been upgraded with Central Government funds,” he said and congratulated MP and Minister Shobha Karandlaje for the same.
Muthalik demanded that Minister Sunil Kumar should make public about the funds received by the State Government for the roads. Karkala Taluk library has not been inaugurated for three years and Hebri Government Hospital should be converted into a Taluk Hospital. Only the main roads of the City have been developed, he said and added that rural roads need to be developed.
Influential people including swamis will be in the fray at 5 places in the State. In the coming days I will reveal the names of Constituencies and individuals. Replying to a question from mediapersons about contesting from Ullal, Muthalik said, “My choice is Karkala. That’s final”.
