Mangaluru: The entire community in Mangaluru is engulfed in grief as they mourn the heartbreaking loss of Captain M.V. Pranjal, a courageous 28-year-old, who laid down his life in a confrontation with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri on Wednesday.
Captain Pranjal, the cherished and only child of the former Managing Director of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL), M.V. Venkatesh, and Anuradha Venkatesh, began his educational journey at Delhi Public School on the MRPL campus in Mangaluru. Following his pre-university studies at Mahesh PU College in Mangaluru, he went on to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), where he pursued his engineering before being commissioned in the Rashtriya Rifles.
The news has left MRPL in profound sorrow, and they paid tribute to Captain Pranjal as one of their own, acknowledging the immense sacrifice he made for the nation. ONGC, the parent organization of MRPL, also expressed deep sorrow, recognizing Captain Pranjal’s valor and characterizing him as a fearless soldier with a promising future. They shared that he aspired to become a Major and emphasized that his bravery and unwavering commitment would forever be a source of inspiration.
The heart-wrenching impact of Captain Pranjal’s loss is palpable on social media, with the Mangalurean community pouring out their emotions. Mr. Venkatesh, originally from Mysuru and now residing in Bengaluru, is grappling with the unimaginable pain of losing his son—a brave soldier who not only served his nation but also touched the lives of many with his unwavering spirit.
