Kolya car accident one dead, three injured

Mangaluru: One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a horrific car accident that occurred on Sunday January 29 at NH 66, while two young girls escaped with minor injuries near Kolya-Adka.

The deceased has been identified as Bashar Ahmed (22), a resident of Hidayat Nagar in Uppala. The identity of the other victim is yet to be ascertained. The injured have been identified as Fathima and Revathi, both residents of Kannur in Kerala.

The car in which the four were travelling climbed a road divider near Kolya-Adka and collided with an electric pole and was completely crushed.

Bashar Ahmed, who was driving the car, got trapped inside it, sustained severe injuries including his head, and died on the spot.

While one of the girls was taken to A. J. Hospital in a car by Prashanth Gatti, the other was admitted to the same hospital through a tempo traveller.

The seriously injured has been admitted to private hospital in Deralakatte. Treatment is being given in the intensive care unit.
Among the injured is Fatima, a medical student at a private medical college. It is learnt that the four were friends.
