MangaluruMP Nalin Kumar Kateel has directed the district administration of Dakshina Kannada to initiate the necessary steps to commence a cruise service to Lakshadweep from the city.

Travelers can currently take a ship or plane from Kochi, Kerala, to Lakshadweep. Worldwide travelers must go through Kochi in order to get to Lakshadweep. That being said, the island is nearer Mangaluru than Kochi. Even now, a variety of products are transported from the former port of Mangaluru to Lakshadweep, including fruits, vegetables, and building materials.

There once was a cruise ship that ran from Mangaluru to Lakshadweep and sold tickets for a pittance of Rs 250 to Rs 300. There was also an additional tour package available. Regretfully, this service has been out of commission for a number of years. The deputy commissioner has been made aware of the strong interest in visiting Lakshadweep by internet users via MP Nalin Kumar Kateel’s social media posts. Based on the information his office has provided, MP Nalin has urged the deputy commissioner to take the appropriate action in this regard.
