Mangaluru: The Hindu community in the Coastal areas has woken up against the growing number of Islamic ‘Love Jihad’ targeting Hindu girls. A helpline has been set up for the benefit of the victims and to stop the jihadists’ love jihad attempts.
Two WhatsApp and a call number have also been provided along with an email id. The public is advised to call this number if they suspect love jihad.
Cases of ‘love jihad’ are on the rise in Dakshina Kannada District and they have been requested to contact them immediately if they come across any case of ‘love jihad’ in their homes, neighbourhoods and villages. Girls working in schools, colleges, campuses and offices are more likely to fall victim to love jihad, so if there is a case of love jihad, please contact the helpline number, it has been requested.
Details of love jihad cases and photos etc. can be sent through WhatsApp. Any suggestions and complaints related to love jihad can also be sent through e-mail. Legal advice will be issued if required and the details of the informants will be kept confidential.
“Our aim is to have a Hindu society free of love jihad,” said a Hindu leader.
