Mangaluru: A man who had several criminal offenses pending against him, was arrested on Friday, August 12 for attacking a cop in a bid to evade arrest.
The accused has been identified as Mohammed Faizal alias Cabaret Faizal (33), a native of the Moodabidri village of Thodar.
Faisal used a dagger to assault the police officers as he tried to run. Police stated that he was chased and arrested from a forest area, and they said that he has been charged under IPC Section 353.
Faizal is facing many criminal charges at different police stations, including Bajpe, Mangaluru Rural, Ajekaru, Moodabidri, and Venur. Courts have reportedly issued arrest warrants for him in a few of these cases, informed the police.
