Mangaluru: Uppinangadi Police arrested a man accused of raping a minor girl in Puchcheri in Nelyadi village.
The accused has been identified as Chetan. He has been booked under POCSO Act.
The incident happened on December 29 when the girl and her family had gone for the annual programme function at the school. Her parents left for home as the victim insisted on watching the entire programme.
Chetan offered to drop the girl safely home. However, Chetan took her into a forest, where he sexually assaulted her. He also left the girl in the woods area.
The victim didn’t come home, and her parents started looking for her. Later, they found her in a forest.
She told her parents what happened, and they took her to the hospital and filed a case against Chetan.
