Mangaluru: A tipper truck driver ran over a 61-year-old man after he asked him to drive carefully.
The deceased has been identified as Fayaz, a resident of Kotebagilu in Moodbidri. The accused is Haris, a tipper truck driver.
After noting that Haris was driving the tipper fast and producing dust clouds, Fayaz warned the accused not to drive recklessly near the Kotebagilu Masjid.
The two ran into each other in a similar situation on their way back from the Masjid, which led to a dispute.
According to sources, Haris allegedly hit him with an iron rod and ran over him with the vehicle after Fayaz fell off the step.
Fayaz died on the way to the hospital due to the impact of the incident.
A murder case has been registered and further investigation is on.
