Mangaluru: The District Regional Transport Authority has updated the Dakshina Kannada autorickshaw rate, which will come into effect on November 15.
1.5 kilometres will cost a minimum of Rs 35. (maximum three passengers). Each additional kilometre will cost Rs. 17 in addition. 15 minutes are free as waiting time. A five rupees additional charges will be added for every 15 minutes thereafter.
There will be no fee for 20 kgs of luggage. One should pay Rs. 5 for an additional 20 kgs of luggage. From nighttime 10.00 pm. until dawn, passengers need to pay 1.5 times the mentioned fee.
The implementation of colour coding for autos has been decided. All autos and e-auto operating in zone 1 (Mangaluru cityy) must be painted in black and yellow. Also, the police department’s “Zone 1” sticker must be seen from all four sides of the vehicle. Autos in zone 2 (Mangaluru Rural) have already been painted in black and yellow.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, vehicles should now have “Zone 2” stickers on all 4 sides.
