Mangaluru: Congress Youth Leader Mithun Rai has demanded that Ministers Kota Srinivas Poojary and V. Sunil Kumar should apologise to the Dakshina Kannada District citizens after making a false statement about the textbook.
Speaking at a press conference held at Congress Bhavan here on Wednesday July 13, he said that when there was a controversy regarding the removal of Brahmarshi Narayana Guru text from the textbook, Dakshina Kannada BJP District President Sudarshan, Ministers Kota Srinivas Poojary and Sunil Kumar had said that they did not remove the lesson instead the Congressmen are misleading by lying. Now the Education Minister himdelf has issued an order to include Narayana Guru in Social Science syllabus. In the past, Minister Kota and Sunil have given wrong information to the media and played with people’s feelings. Therefore, they should apologise to the people of the District, he urged.
Brahmarshi Narayana Guru lesson is included in Social Science text as a result of Congress’ struggle. Still there are many mistakes in the textbook, and we will reveal those mistakes soon, he added. At the same time he alleged that the Chief Minister, who visited the District on Tuesday July 12 to check the rain damage, has neglected the Mulky-Moodabidri Constituency.
