Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath has instructed the officials to arrest the cow smugglers after a case of cow theft came to light in Bajal area in the City.
In a meeting with Police Officials, MLA Kamath, who instructed them to confiscate the properties of cow thieves to prevent cases of illegal cow slaughter and cow-theft, has also warned suitable action against cow thieves. A case has been registered at Kankanady Police Station against the theft of cows from the house of Ashwin, a resident of Kanakari, Bajal. The police has registered a case and launched an investigation and with the instructions of MLA Kamath, the investigation has been further expedited.
Speaking to mediapersons, MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that the cow has a pious place in Hinduism. There are many families who make a living by rearing cows. In this regard, the State Government has already implemented a ban on cow slaughter and has also instructed to take strict action against cow thieves. It is a warning to the cow thieves that if the offence of cow-theft and cow slaughter is proved, their properties will be seized. He also warned the cow smugglers to be ready to face more severe punishment if they indulge in such acts in future.
