Mangaluru: Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Veerappa Moily denied rumours that his son would run in the Karkala Assembly Constituency for the Vidhana Sabha in 2023.
Speaking to mediapersons here at the District Congress office on Sunday January 1, he said, “Neither my son Harsha Moily nor I would run in the upcoming Assembly elections from Karkala or any other constituency. Tickets will be given to party workers in good standing.”
Moily expressed his confidence that the Congress party will secure a clear majority. “We will win if we have patience and campaign well like we did in Himachal Pradesh,” he added.
In response to Union Minister Amit Shah’s announcement about the merger of cooperatives, he said, “Nandini’s merger with Amul is an unwise move and the Centre is aiming to disrupt the cooperative system. Union Minister Amit Shah is ignorant of the federal structure. His action is detrimental to the federal structure.”
