Mangaluru: Deputy leader of Opposition in the State Assembly U. T. Khader alleged on Wednesday November 2 that BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel and other saffron party MLAs in the District are running away from the people’s protest against the Surathkal toll gate.
Speaking to mediapersons he said that Kateel, who is also the Dakshina Kannada MP, is trying to divert attention from the fact that there was no toll gate at nearby Hejamady at the time by blaming Congress for the toll gate that was installed during the UPA government.
He further said that two toll gates within a 10-kilometre distance have sparked protests from the public. The local MP and MLAs of the ruling party should immediately address the problem with the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways to resolve it, he said.
