Mangaluru: A student of Private Nursing College in Kenjar was killed on the spot after a tragic accident occurred near NIT – K toll gate at around 1.00 am on Monday March 6.
The deceased has been identified as Shashank (21), a native of B. T. Katte in Somwarapete, Madikeri. Shashank, along with his friend, was on his way to Mukka from Surathkal end on an NS 200 bike with a pillion rider when the bike lost control in front of the tollgate and met with an accident.
Due to rash and reckless driving, Shashank was thrown off the bike on the road and died on the spot while the rider escaped unhurt with minor injuries. The handle of the bike was broken and crushed. Traffic Police Station ACP Geeta Kulkarni visited and inspected the spot.
