Mangaluru: ‘Our conscience can protect us more than any law’

Mangaluru: Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University, P. S. Yadapadithaya said that the key factor preventing human trafficking is the enforcement of the law, civic responsibility and moral responsibility.

He said that our conscience can protect us more than any law can, and it cannot be cheated. The VC was addressing the gathering at the University College in Hampankatta during the launch of Mangalore University’s first Anti Human Trafficking Club (AHTC) and workshop titled “Human Trafficking: Concerns and Strategies.

Speaking further he said that only by being organised and having enough awareness could such societal evil be eliminated.
Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Mahesh Kumar for Mangalore North Sub-Division, called on citizens to work with the police to stop human trafficking.
Prathima M., the Director of International Justice Mission Strategic Engagement, gave a special talk during the event.
