Mangaluru: Police Commissioner assures foreigners’ safety in city

Mangaluru: City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar instructed the foreigners that they would never have to worry about their safety as long as their documents were correct and they were not involved in any illegal activities.

Addressing at an interaction with foreign nationals present in Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate limits for Education and Employment at Maria Paiva Hall, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya on Saturday July 2, Shashi Kumar assured the foreigners that if they were facing any kind of problems, they can calla and reach out at 112 and within 15 minutes of making the call, the Police would come where you they were and solve their problems.

As many as 336 foreign nationals from around 50 countries have taken refuge in Mangalore for education and employment. Among them 210 were males and 126 were females of which two are Pakistanis, he pointed out. They have been residing in Mangaluru since 2015. Citizens from countries like Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Iraq, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, UAE, and USA etc. too are residing here, he informed and added, “It is also our duty to take care of your safely. Therefore, if you have any problem, meet the Mangaluru police immediately, and your problem will be resolved.”

Foreign nationals and students interacted with the Police Commissioner on the occasion.
