Mangaluru: The Anti-Terrorism Squad, City unit under the Internal Security Division (ISD) is all set to serve within the limits of the City Commissionerate, and hence held a mock drill at the Police Grounds on Thursday June 16.
The team has 35 Police Personnel that has arrived in the City after a two-month training at the Counter-Terrorism Centre (CCT) at Kudlu in Bengaluru.
Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar said, “The CCT team underwent training over a period of two months that comprised physical and mental fitness as well as skill training. Interrogation, how to act when individuals are abducted and held hostage, and how to handle weapons in special situations while dealing with anti-social elements among others werepart of the training.
Along with this, Varun Water Canon Vehicle will be inducted into the City Armed Forces, whichcan store large amount of water and can be used during operations, he informed.
