Mangaluru: Work on the Bikarnakatte-Sanoor National Highway is progressing at a fast pace. About 22 km of road works are already nearing completion. It is a long-sought-after road the work is going on with a grant of Rs 1200 crore, said MP Nalin Kumar kateel.
He was speaking after inspecting the work on the Bikarnakatte-Sanoor National Highway.
The work is not being carried out due to various reasons and in some places due to legal reasons.Will Solve those problems. Priority will be given to complete the work by 2024. An experienced team is doing this work. With a view to speed up the work, I and the MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty visited the spot, he said.
“We have examined the problems of the people here as well as the drainage system, water problem and other problems due to the onset of monsoon. The officials have been directed to rectify the problems at the earliest in the areas where there are problems and ensure that no one is harmed, he said.
For the last nine years, the district has been flooded with grants. The government has allocated Rs 38,000 crore under different schemes. About Rs 10,000 crore has been allocated for road works.The work will be carried out at the stage of two tenders from B.C. Road to Addahole. Work has started from BC Road to Punjal Katte and from Punjalakatte to Charmadi Road. Kodagu Mani is already in the DPR stage. The government has given funds to the district for the development of dozens of roads, said the MP.
I will inspect all the works on the national highway once in 15 days as before. A meeting has been called for railway projects on June 9. Earlier the meeting used to be held once in three months. Mp Nalin Kumar Kateel said that all railway divisional meetings will be convened in Mangaluru.
