Mangaluru: Chairman of the Coastal Development Authority Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde on Wednesday July 20 said that the government has set aside Rs. 35 Crore to implement 207 development works in three coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada between 2022 and 2023.
Speaking to mediapersons here Hegde said that the authority had approved 229 works during 2021–2022, of which 151 works were completed and the remaining 78 works are in process.
He said that the government had allocated Rs. 1 Crore for each of the two hanging bridges planned for the Shambhavi River at Mulki and Thenginagunddi in Bhatkal.
He said that Rs. 1 Crore will be used to construct the Parashuram theme park in Bailoor, Karkala Taluk, Udupi District. Funds have been set up for the construction of bus shelters and roads in the three coastal districts.
The “Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana,” launched for the sustainable development of the fisheries sector, will be implemented successfully and authorities will take steps for this, said Hegde.
