Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a rider was killed and his co-rider was seriously injured in a lorry-scooter accident at Netravati Bridge in the wee hours on Thursday February 23.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Noufal (26), a resident of Angaragundi. The injured has been identified as Ummer Farooq, a co-rider.
The scooter, which was on its way to Thokottu from Pumpwell side in the wake of vegetable trade at Kallapu Global Market, collided head-on with the rear of a timber lorry parked at Netravathi Bridge. As a result, the rider sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot.
Mangaluru South Traffic Police has registered a case.
