Mangaluru: Son assaults mother over property share

Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, a son allegedly threatened and assaulted his mother demanding a share in the property under Vittak Police Station limits in Bantwal Taluk.

Sachin, the second son of Narayana Gowda of Idkidu Village, has been named as the accused. Chetan Kumar, the eldest son, was returning home from work in the evening when he heard his mother Rohini crying from the kitchen. When he immediately ran to the kitchen, his mother Rohini wasbeing told by Chetan’s younger brother Sachin, who was holding his hair and slapping her face, “Give me a share of the property, otherwise I won’t let you live.” When Chetan tried to stop him, Sachin tried to stab his mother with a knife.

As Chetan snatched the knife, he removed the stone from the kitchen and hit him on the back of his head, bit him in the hand and ran away.

The injured mother Rohini and Chetan have been admitted to Vittal Community Hospital.

A case has been registered at Vittal Police Station in this regard.
