Mangaluru: The humane side of police officers who are otherwise known to be tough came to the forefront in an incident that occurred at Pumpwell here on Sunday July 25. The police personnel of Traffic South Police Station helped change the tyre of a car wherin the passengers were a lone woman and her child when they noticed that one of the car tyres was punctured.
A Kundapur-based woman was in a car with her young child. She was on her way to City from Naguri when her car tyre got punctured at Pumpwell. The officers of the highway patrol that was on duty at the time noticed the helplessness of the woman, and immediately rushed towards the car. Moreover, they lent a helping hand by changing the tyre for her.
The good samaritans were Traffic South Police Station, Naguri Assistant Sub Inspector Albert Walter Lasrado, staff Mahesh and Home Guard Asif. “When my staff and I saw the woman at the side of the road at Pumpell we came to know that her tyre was punctured and she didn’t know anywhere close by to get it fixed,” said Sub Inspector Albert Walter Lasrado while speaking to News Karnataka. We helped her put the step-in within 10 minutes, he added.
