Mangaluru: Police have arrested three persons in connection with the assault on a student travelling in a bus who was allegedly sharing a seat with a Hindu girl.
Kadri Police arrested Muthu and Prakash from Surathkal, and Rakesh of Asaigoli.
20-year-old Syed Rashim Ummer, who studies at a private college in Karkala, was assaulted inside the bus on November 24 in Nanthoor.
Syed Rashim and a Hindu student from his class used to travel to Mangaluru by private bus through the Karkala-Nitte route.
The complaint stated that Rashim had been assaulted by three to four youth who had barged into the bus. He claimed that the gang threatened to kill him if he told anyone about the assault and forced him to get off the bus.
