Mangaluru: A tractor carrying iron rods overturned and fell on a 32-year-old man, killing him on Wednesday December 7.
The deceased has been identified as Lokesh from Chikkamagaluuru. He was working as a labourer at Bangarapalke of Elaneeru under Malavanthige village to build retaining walls for a vented dam.
Iron rods for the construction project were being transported in the truck. According to sources, Lokesh was walking next to the truck when the truck’s driver lost control of it, causing it to turn over and fall on him.
Lokesh was taken to Kalasa hospital but passed away on the way. Deepak, the truck driver, and another labourer were injured in the accident but are said to be in stable condition.
A case has been registered at Beltangady Police Station.
