Mangaluru: The residents of Jattipalla have been facing water scarcity for the past six months. They protested on Tuesday February 14 since they have been facing water crisis in the area.

Alleging that water has not been coming for the last four days and the authorities are giving a evading reply when asked, the protesters staged a symbolic protest by placing an empty pot.

Rasheed Jattipalla, who spoke at the protest, has been saying for a long time that the water supply to the area has been disrupted for several months as the pump is not proper and now the water has not come for three to four days and the authorities are not giving a proper reply.

Despite repeated appeals to the Town Panchayat, the issue has not been resolved, he warned, adding that more than 500 families of Jattipalla will have to join hands to stage a violent protest.

Town Panchayat President Vinay Kumar Kandadka, who arrived at the spot, assured to solve the water supply problem and promised to supply water through tankers.
