Mangaluru: Adtale in Aranthodu village of Sullia taluk has been facing water scarcity for many years and after several requests to the local gram panchayat in this regard, to no avail, the villagers have come forward to seek the help of the deputy commissioner.
A tank was constructed at Adtale about 15 years ago and even though a borewell with enough water has been constructed and a pipeline has been laid, no water has come. Despite repeated requests to the local gram panchayat, not a single house has been connected so far. Also, though several borewells and tanks have been constructed here and there recently under the Central Government’s Jal Jeevan Mission, drinking water has not been provided to the local people.

He requested the Deputy Commissioner to conduct a thorough inquiry into the complete failure to provide arrangements for the use of the people despite the work being carried out and direct the concerned department to provide drinking water to every household at the earliest.
