Mangaluru: Giving clarification on the part at pub in the City on Monday July 25, Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar said that some Hindu organisation activists arrived at the pub around 9.00 pm on Sunday and informed bouncer that minor girls and boys were inside the pub partying.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday July 26, Shashi Kumar said that bouncer Dinesh was approached by a group of around nine Hindu activists, who informed him about minor students’ presence in the pub. With this information, bouncer approached the manager and asked him to check the presence of such students. The manager found few students of a local college, and he duly asked them to leave the pub, Shashi Kumar informed.
Police Commissioner said, “according to the bouncer, the organisation’s activists did not go inside the pub. They informed the bouncer only from outside the pub. Now the CCTV will be verified and due legal action if any will be taken. The statement of the pub Manager and the Bouncer has been taken. Moreover, the outsiders are not allowed to enter the pub and disturb the customers. Further, no one apart from the pub management is allowed to ask for ID, or license. This allegations will be reviewed and legal action will be taken if there is any offence committed,” he noted.
Shashi Kumar said that though the incident has happened just after obsecene video case in which students were involved, this case and the video case is no where related. In this case, it is the final year degree students who had come to the pub. As per the pub’s rule, only people above the age of 21 years are allowed to enter the pub. Therefore, we will collect information in this regard and thereafter appropriate legal action will be taken, he added.
This pub in the City has been functioning for a long time.
