Mangaluru: Police arrested a woman for theft at a hospital in Dharmasthala here. The arrested accused has been identified as Harsha (26). She was arrested in Bengaluru.
According to sources, the theft happened on June 30. Hema from Bengaluru reported the theft of Rs. 6,000 and an 80-gram Mangalya chain from her vanity bag to the police while she was seeking care at a naturopathy hospital in Shantivana, Dharmasthala.
A special team of Dharmasthala police officers was formed to investigate the matter. Police in Bengaluru arrested the accused after following the clues.
It has been found that Bantwala native Harsha worked in Bengaluru. She also had a visa for Dubai. Police reported that they recovered stolen items worth Rs 2.5 lakhs from her.
The accused was produced before the court in Belthangady on Thursday and has been remanded in judicial custody.
