Maple theft case cracked; three held

Mangaluru: Three persons from Nepal have been arrested by CCB sleuths in connection with a theft case at Maple store in Mangaluru and at Bajpe supermarket. .
Ganesh Sorake(30) of Bajhang district, Prakash Singh Khatari(30) of Kanchanpur district and Prakash alias Sher(27) of Bajhang district in Nepal were the three arrested.

Goods worth Rs 3.25 lakh have been recovered from them, by the cops.

Three persons had gained entry into the Maple store at Balmatta by removing the meter box and decamped with i-phones, Apple laptops and cash of Rs 1,97,980. After stealing the goods, two of them had gone to Nepal, but returned later and stole digital cameras, tablets and watches from a supermarket at Bajpe.

The police arrested Ganesh at Padubidri and confiscated mobile phones, laptops and digital cameras worth Rs 3.10 lakh. The police have also appealed to hotel and house owners to check the background of security guards while appointing them. The information of the security guard should be given to the nearest police station, they added.
