Matha has set an example through knowledge, service: Kageri

Mangaluru: State Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri said that Sri Ramakrishna Matha is a model for the world through its knowledge and service.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the valedictory function of the Amrita Mahotsava of Sri Ramakrishna Matha here on Saturday June 4. Nowadays a lot of values are fading away in the society. Hospitals and police stations are on the rise due to selfish thinking. There are also a lot of challenges in the functioning of important organs of governance such as the Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary. In such a situation, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, and Vivekananda, who showed the light of wisdom to the world through Religion, are role models for us even today, said Kageri.

“That if India has to become a world guru, it has to imbibe the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama. Sri Ramakrishna Mathas, which have a history of over 125 years in the country, have contributed in their own way to the nation and world,” he observed.

Kageri said that, he would like to express his gratitude to Sri Ramakrishna Matha, Mangaluru, which has a history of 75 years, for making a significant contribution to the development of the District.

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V., Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kumar, Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Premananda Shetty, Alva’s Educational Institutions President Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Sri Ramakrishna Matha, Mangaluru President Swami Jitakamanandaji, Ekagamyananda Swamiji of Sri Ramakrishna Matha, Belur Matha, West Bengal, Vice-President Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Muktidanandaji and others were present.

On Saturday at Symposium 4, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru and Vivekaprabha Monthly Magazine Editor Swami Jnanyoganandaji, Ramakrishna Mission, Sivanahalli, Bengaluru Seer Swami Mangalnathanandaji and Vedanta Kesari Editor Swami Mahamedhanandaji of Ramakrishna Matha, Chennai will participate, while at Symposium 5, Sadhanaashrama Davanagere President Mataji Yoganandamayi, Bhavantarini Ashrama, Bengaluru President Mataji Vivekamayi and Sri Sharadashrama, Challakere President Mataji Thyagamayi was present. Swami Aghaharanandaji of Ramakrishna Vidyashala Mysuru, Dr. Muralidhara H. N., Litterateur, Bengaluru, and Dr. G .S. Mariguddi, Litterateurs, Belagavi was present at the Symposium 6. A special Symposium on Ramakrishna Matha Mangaluru – 75 years of Journey by Ramakrishna Matha, Mangaluru President Swami Jitakamanandaji and new programmes and experiments of Mangaluru Ramakrishna Matha by Swami Ekagamyanandaji of Ramakrishna Matha, Mangaluru were also held.

Ramakrishna Matha, Mangaluru Volunteer Ranjan Bellarpady also presented his thoughts. A cultural programme by Alva’s cultural glory and Sri Rama Pattabhisheka, Yakshanataka composition was also held between 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm.
