MCC Bank opens NRE Cell

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Catholic Co-operative (MCC) Bank Ltd, a bank with a legacy of over a century has launched an NRE Cell at the main branch, located on the St Aloysius College Road on Sunday, January 6.

NRI Entrepreneur and community leader Dubai, James Mendonca and MD, Merit Freight Systems Co. LLC, UAE and Mangaluru Joseph Mathias inaugurated the cell. Meanwhile, an ATM was also inaugurated on the same occasion by the Managing director of Daijiworld Pvt Ltd Walter Nandalike and MCC Bank former chairman Francis Cutinho. 

Mangaluru Bishop Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha blessed the occasion and opined that Bank should initiate pro-customer service, which is very essential for the success of a Bank. “Every customer should be treated like a VIP by the staff. This would create a good impression among the minds of the people on the Bank”, he said.

Walter Nandalike, Managing Director of Daijiworld Pvt Ltd said, “The MCC Bank has a good image and vast history. Till today, other Banks are keen on opening the account of NRI, when they landed in the airport. As MCC Bank also opened NRE Cell, it is the turn of MCC Bank now. However, it is a challenge for the staff to recover the loans.”

NRI Entrepreneur and community leader Dubai, James Mendonza said, “Many people from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district are in America, Canada and gulf. A bank should concentrate on gulf countries for deposit and investments. If any Bank is ready to give good service to its customers and succeeds to secure the confidence of account holders, such Bank would attain success. Today customers are smart and they expect a bank to be smart and banks should start thinking from customers’ perspective.”

Merit Freight systems Co and LLC UAE, Managing Director Joseph Mathias congratulated the management of the MCC bank for launching the NRI service.”The MCC has a vast history of several years. Now it has started NRI service under the dynamic chairman Anil Lobo and the whole team should achieve success,” he said.

Vice Chairman of MCC Bank Jerald Jude D’Silva, directors Dolphi Joseph Patrao, Marcel Mathew D’Souza, Herald Joan Monteiro, Roshan D’Souza, Anil Patrao, Elroy Kiran Crasto, J P Rodrigues, David D’Souza, Dr. Freida Flavia D’Souza, Irin Rebello, Michael D’Souza and C J Pinto, former chairpersons Valentine D’Silva, Melwyn P Noronha and other guests were present on the dais.

Chairperson of MCC Bank Anil Lobo welcomed the gathering.

General Manager Sunil Menezes proposed a vote of thanks.

Directors Anil Patrao and Andrew D’Souza compered the programme.
