Mangaluru: An international conference and pre-conference workshop, ‘eTime-2019’ was inaugurated at the Prerna Hall in St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor on Friday, August 9. The conference primarily dealt with emerging trends in mechanical engineering.
Aerospace Malaysia Research Centre head Dr Haji Kamarul Arifin Bin Ahmad was the chief guest of the event. Assistant director, SJEC, Rev. Fr Alwyn Richard D’souza and principal, SJEC Dr Rio D’souza were the guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Ahmad said, “A conference is needed for academics. You will get to learn a lot from the expats. So, enjoy the conference.”
Earlier, the programme commenced with a prayer followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
The programme was compered by Ramya. Head of Department (Mechanical Engineering) Dr Sudheer M welcomed gathering.
St Joseph Engineering College Principal Fr Wilfred D’Souza, Assistant Directors Fr Rohith D’Costa and Fr Alwyn D’Souza, and Organizing Secretary Dr Purushothama Chippar were present.
