Mangaluru: Reportedly, the Mangaluru police are likely to take Aditya Rao, who stands accused of planting a bomb at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), to Chennai for an inquest.
Rao, on Thursday, was remanded by the sixth JMFC court in Mangaluru to police custody for a period of 10 days. According to sources in the police department, Rao might be taken to Chennai as primary investigations have revealed that he procured the components to build his bomb from a Chennai-based company.
Earlier, a team of police, headed by ACP Belliappa, took Rao to the crime spot at the MIA and gathered information relating to the incident. Rao had admitted to the police that he hatched the plan to make the bomb to take revenge for being rejected from a job. He took a year to learn how to build a bomb by watching videos on YouTube and purchased the required components online from a Chennai-based company in order to avoid suspicion.
This incident has sent shock waves throughout the country. It has also become fodder for political arguments and rival parties have been throwing shade at each other since the incident was first reported.
