Mangaluru: Scores of migrant workers from North Karnataka gathered at the Town Hall on Tuesday, April 28, hoping that the district administration would arrange transport for them back to their hometowns.
Pictures from the scene showed that social distancing was completely ignored as they sat together in groups.
Earlier, the district administration had sent a total of 780 migrant and daily wagers back to their hometowns in around 60 buses. Although no arrangements were made today to send the workers back to their homes, many gathered at the Town Hall after travelling from different parts of the district.
They dispersed from the area after they found out that no arrangements were made to transport migrant workers back to their hometowns today.
