Mangaluru: Milagres Toastmasters celebrated its 200th meeting online (keeping in mind the coronavirus spread prevention measures announced by the Government) with great zeal on the 7th of June 2020. Over 50 Toastmasters attended the event.
In spite of the pandemic confining the event to a zoom meeting, the members left no stone unturned to make sure the event was engaging for the audience. The event was graced by many Toastmasters of Mangaluru including Club Mentor Double DTM Dr. C. K. Ballal, Club Sponsor DTM Anita Cordeiro, District Administration Manager DTM Savitha Salian, Division Director DTM Shivani Baliga, Area Director TM Vidya Shenoy, DTM Samina Nayak, DTM Hima Urmila Shetty, and DTM Bharathi Shevgoor.
TM Leona Aranha served as the Master of Ceremony for the event and held the entire meeting together with her cheerful demeanor. The President, TM Mahima Bhat welcomed all the Toastmasters and thanked them for joining in for the celebration.
Double DTM Dr. C. K. Ballal gracefully and wholeheartedly introduced the educational session speaker, DTM Veera Katpitia.
DTM Veera Katpitia gave a talk on the topic ‘Humorously Speaking’ where she listed out tips on how to engage the audience with humor and also enumerated the dos and don’ts of delivering a humorous speech. The session was applauded and appreciated by the audience. TM Amita Shetty handled the Q &A session in a very professional manner.
Double DTM Dr. C. K. Ballal meticulously conducted a tall tale relay game that invited as many as 18 participants. TM Anupama Shetty and TM Mahima Bhat kept the entertainment ball rolling with games and quiz sessions. The session was engaging and kept the competitive spirit high.
TM Azma Sheikh wrapped the event with an engaging vote of thanks.
Milagres Toastmasters had its inaugural meeting on October 18, 2012. Since then the club has helped scores of members hone their communication and leadership skills.
