Mangaluru: Even as the political engineering is going on to form the new cabinet, the MLAs from Dakshina Kannada and the three ministers from the district seem to be relaxed.
While aspirants have made emergency landing in New Delhi, Ministers from Dakshina Kannada- B Ramanath Rai (Minister for Forest and Ecology), Abhayachandra Jain (Minister for Sports and Youth Affair) and U T Khader (Minister for Health) are in the district, showing little to no interest to impress the high command. Surprisingly even MLAs like J R Lobo, Moideen Bava, Shakunthala Shetty are all in their constituency.
With rumours making rounds that one Minister from the district will be axed, it is only Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake, who has thought that he could be the one and has reached New Delhi one day before CM’s arrival. The chances of Sorake being weeded out of the cabinet is rather strong. Meanwhile in Udupi district MLA Pramodh Madhwaraj and Gopal Poojary are New Delhi as well. If Sorake is to lose, then it can be either Madhwaraj or Poojary or Kadgodu Thimmappa who is to gain, say insiders.
With the CM having evinced that age too can be a factor, Kagodu not getting a Ministerial berth is also a possibility, in which case, Madhwaraj and Poojary have brighter chance.
