Mangaluru: After the Bharatiya Janatha Party settled in securing 104 seats without reaching magic number required to form the government in recent assembly elections in the state, BJP State general secretary CT Ravi admitted that party has failed to perform in several place, specifically where names of the places start with ‘B’.
Addressing a press meet at BJP office here in the city, CT Ravi said “The party has failed to perform in the places like Bengaluru, Bellary, Bijapur, Bidar and Belgaum. In these places we did not win more number of seats and failed to reach the magic number to form the government in state, though the people have given good mandate to the BJP.”
Terming the Congress-JD(S) coalition government in the state as ‘unholy alliance’, CT Ravi said, those hungry for power came together to form the government.
Taking dig at BJP’s opposition parties in the country, CT Ravi said, “Scared of PM Narendra Modi, oppositions have united in the country against the BJP with the sole intention to defeat Narendra Modi in Lokasabha elections in 2019. I feel there is international strategy going on to defeat Narendra Modi in Lokasabha elections.”
“Opposition parties are aware that if they don’t win in 2019 elections, they will politically be homeless in the future. They are making efforts to create political instability throughout the country claiming that the democracy and the constitution is under threat,” Ravi added.
Regarding mysterious death of cattle trader Husainabba in Udupi district, Ravi said that culprits must be dealt as per law, but if murder is an offence so is illegal cattle trafficking.
BJP leaders Kishor Rai, Captain Brijesh Chowta, Ravishankar Mijar and others were present in the press meet.
